The Rarities and Sponsor Films
Bathurst is the biggest race in Australian Motorsport and its rise and growth to national prominence through the 1970s was largely via the expansive and dedicated television coverage of the Seven Network. But the TV cameras weren’t the only ones running at Mount Panorama in this period of the race’s history. A range of sponsors funded feature documentaries on the goings on at Bathurst each year, covering the highs and the lows of the various races.
This was the era where Peter Brock and Allan Moffat were becoming household names and the on-track success of a car model instantly was transferred into what sat in the driveways of families across the country.
On this special release we have four rare sponsor films from the 1970s covering the years from 1972 – Peter Brocks first Bathurst win for the Holden Dealer Team – through to his second victory in 1975. In between are the wins by the factory Ford of Allan Moffat in 1973 and the privateer entry of John Goss’s team in 1974.
These films aren’t 100 percent in terms of quality and clarity, however they are absolute gems that are a must for every motor racing DVD collection.
Please note this title was available in the box set ‘Living In The Seventies”.
