The one lap Shootout for pole position at the Bathurst 1000 is one of the must-watch highlights each year at Mount Panorama and the Group A era of the race in the 1980s and 1990s deliver some sizzling hot laps in these sessions.
For the first time, Chevron has dug into the Seven Network archive and compiled in one release the single-lap dash for pole at Bathurst from 1986 to 1992.
Dubbed ‘Hardies Heroes’ and later the ‘Tooheys Top 10’, the Shootout saw all of the big names featured with the likes of Brock, Johnson, Skaife, Richards, Perkins, Grice, Seton, Bond, Fury, Longhurst and many more tackling Mount Panorama.
And some of the most iconic cars also feature in this new release – including the whistling turbo Ford Sierras, Nissan’s turbo cars: ‘Godzilla’ GT-R, GTS-R and Skyline Turbo, the trusty V8 Commodores and the screaming little BMW M3.
